About to leave for Frankfurt

Wednesday May 20, 2008, 9:17 AM

Hello It's Kevin and I'm about to leave for Frankfurt. I can't wait for a regular keyboard again(german ones have different key placemants) and I can't wait to see my grandparents and Canada again; but somehow I will really miss Germany. This is probably going to be the last post I'll ever make on this blog again but I really really enjoyed my vacation.

Bittersweet moments really tick me off,

Kevin

Back from Algeria... Err Küzelsau

Friday May 16 2008 9:20 PM

Hello and I'd like to say that we just got back from well you know. I got to see my cousin Justin and spend some time with my grandpa; all of us went to the hybrid outdoor/indoor pool. Instead of chlorine the pool had healing salt water like in the ocean. It also featured a huge water slide and two 1 metre jumping boards, two 3 metre jumping boards and one 5 metre high jumping board. Well the salt water sure was a very nice change and it wasn't half as harsh as chlorine so t'was very nice :)

At Last I'm Back In Germany!!!

May 14 2008, 11:51 AM

Hey There It's Kevin, I just got back from the majorly long car ride back to Germany. In Europe there is a Union called the ''European Union'' and this union was formed to improve Europe's Economy. Now that this union is formed I and any other member of the European Union can travel and work in any country that's a part of the union. This union has many advantages, one of them being there are open borders between countries (no passport control), and this makes driving through countries much easier and faster.
Any ways we travelled through Germany (duh) Austria, Slovenia, and lastly Croatia.
Along The way we went to the highest point in Germany: The Zugspitze. It's 2962 Metres High!!! Then we went to the castle Linderhof,( some photos will be put on the side bar) and there was gold everywhere!!! After the castle on the way back instead of going through the alps we went over the highest one in Austria: The Großglockner. There was over three metres of snow on the side of the road! And we saw Groundhogs runnin' up the side of the road away from our car as we approached.
After we made it over we went to a huge man made lake in Kaprun ( A Town in Austria) because it has an insanely huge dam! But sadly it was closed for the day.
Instead we went on this cool hiking trail through a canyon with rapids practically right next to you. It was so beautiful.
On the sides of the trail the canyon went about 75 metres up. Also along the trail were small waterfalls and rives channeling melt water from the mountains into the river/rapids. While hiking on the trail we saw a white butterfly with white wings and on the tips of the wings were orange spots. The little butterfly was taunting us by flying in front of us then flying away and repeating. It was because of this that we named the sweet thing ''Little Demon'.
At the beginning of the trail we saw that it was rated extreme and for experienced hikers only. We wondered why and later on in the trail we saw a cross with a girls name inscribed upon it. She had died on the trail and she was only eighteen years old.
After the trail we moved on to Salzburg. Quite possibly one of the the oldest cities in Europe. We went there to see the birthplace of Mozart and also the fortress in Salzburg. In the Castle we took a tour and saw some cool stuff including various metal masks that would be locked on your head to make you look silly and shame you in front of the whole town. I'll be posting photos of all this everywhere on the blog.

Just Arrived In Croatia!!

May 9 2008 5:56 AM

2 days ago I went to the Zugspitze, the highest point in Germany, and it was awesome! There was still snow on it and it looked like someone had poured liquid marshmellow on the peaks and summits of the alps.

Yesterday I arrived in Croatia and I already have allergies. Oh well. This morning the silly rooster woke me up at about 4 'o clock in the morning, screeching like an old broken record on a broken record player. Other than the rooster I'm having a great time in Croatia.

Amazing!!! Day Six

May 6, 2008 10:21 PM

Today my mom and I went to her old jujitsu instructor's dojang ( in Geislingen) because he invited us to come in and see his new class. Once there the training began and we participated; it was awesome!!!

He is a ninth degree black belt. (There are only ten degrees.) I even learned some really cool and powerful techniques.

The morning we spent visiting people and friends (groan). The evening class was a really nice touch.

Hey listen I will be on the road to Croatia, so I will probally not see a computer for a few days :( I'll be in touch as soon as I can.

4 Days In

Monday May 5 2008 12:01 Pm

Hello there it's Kevin here just to talk about your ''Problem''- just kidding, but I wanted to tell you what I did in the last few days. Let's start off with this: 3 days ago (Friday) I went to the Helfenstein in a town called Geislingen (my dad's hometown), which is a huge castle that is so old that it was built before Canada was discovered.(during the mid-evil time period)

Now for a quick history lesson: the Helfenstein was built to battle against Ulm (a big city) and they shot cannonballs at each other, and one of the cannonballs hit the Helfenstein and to this day almost 600 years later the cannonball is still in the wall. ( I saw it myself) But for some reason there is no sign marking the spot.

When we (My cousins, Parents, and I) started to leave my dad and I bet the others that we could beat them down the mountain A.K.A the hill that the castle is perched on. They would take the car and we would walk down... we beat them because we went straight down, but the road that the cars have to go on curve right then left then right etc. any ways the point is that my dad and I beat them to the train station at the base of the mountain.

The reason that we met there is that we had to pick up my Uncle Benny who is currently on holidays from his university in the city called ''Worms'' the oldest city in Germany. He stayed for a day and left.

The next day we went on a picnic at the ''Ocean Of Stones''; a hiking trail littered with huge chunks of rocks, and I climbed up a 40 foot cliff that there was. I'll post the photo of me on top on the sidebar. On Sunday my Uncle Mario and my cousin Justin came and we went mini golfing.
